Pistons hard to watch
NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.
What is it about the NBA? All of my friends say the same things to me about how hard it is to watch the NBA. They don’t play any defense, forgetting those great Piston teams that lived on defense. The sad part is all of my friends are right. The Pistons just got blown out by Miami and they did not play any defense. Top it off; they did not play any offense.
The Pistons missed three-pointers, lay-ups, open jumpers and everything else, shooting 39.4% from the field.
The Heat (24-22), fighting to claim a playoff spot, got 22 points from Dwyane Wade, but with the game out of hand, he didn’t play in the fourth quarter.
When you look at the Pistons’ stats, the performance wasn’t that surprising. They are the next to last in scoring, second from last in shooting percentage and tied for last in three-point shooting. Only the Nets are a worse shooting team, and the Pistons’ best weapon has been offensive rebounding. (Detroit is No. 1 in the league with 13.5 offensive boards.)

Can a team survive on offensive rebounding? The short answer is No. The long answer is more complicated and brings up the question of how in the world it has come down to this?
Tonight they are playing the Orlando Magic, a team that is feeling bad because they have fallen out of first place when the Atlanta Hawks moved in to take that spot. The Pistons were actually leading in the fourth quarter when Orlando came down and made an uncontested layup on a drive through the paint and an uncontested 3 pointer on another drive through the paint and it just became too much to take. The TV was turned off with the hope the Pistons would lose and end up in the NBA lottery.
Ben Gordon throws it away in desperation time
The Piston game just ended with the Pistons messing up a 3 point attempt when Ben Gordon threw it away and Orlando moves into first place again and the Pistons stay in contention for the Lottery.
