The “Cleveland Plain Dealer“ reported Friday that according to their sources Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James will be named NBA MVP this weekend. According to reports James will receive his second straight MVP Award at the University of Akron this Sunday. NBA Commissioner David Stern will make the formal presentation of the trophy at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland Monday as the Cavaliers host the Boston Celtics in the second game their Playoff series.
James is only the tenth player in the history of the NBA to win the award in consecutive years. “The Chosen One” helped the Cavaliers to a 61-21 record in the regular season as he averaged 29.7 points, 8.6 assists and 7.3 rebounds this season. The Cavaliers had the best record during the NBA regular season for the second straight year.

Dirk Nowitzki isn’t saying yet whether he’s going to become a free agent or return to the Dallas Mavericks next season. The German forward said he needs a week or two to get over his disappointment after the Mavs were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round by San Antonio. The former MVP can opt out of his contract July 1.
