Mike Bibby has joined the players revolution. He proves that a championship is more powerful then the almighty dollar. He gave up the 6.2 million left on his contract. This enabled him to agree to a buyout from the pitiful Wizardry. I’m not sure what is more impressive. The Mid East revolution for democracy or the players that are lining up to join the Heat.
All kidding aside if the ESPN rumormill is correct Mike Bibby puts Miami “over the top.” Any excuse to use Sly Stallone works for me. Bibby is a significant upgrade from Mario Chalmers. I realize Bibby is ancient but I have watched that man hit game winning shots time and time again. In a sense he reminds me of a poor man’s Derek Fisher. We all know what Fish has done for my boy Kobe…The ramifications of this waiver pickup are stellar!
Mike Bibby gave up $6.2 million rather than stay with the last-place Washington Wizards. The veteran guard reached a buyout agreement with the Wizards on Monday, beating by one day a deadline that will allow him to sign with another team in time for be eligible for a playoff roster. Bibby played only two games with Washington after he was acquired last week in the five-player trade that sent Kirk…
It looks as if the New York Knicks will be adding some more depth to their front-court according to the “New York Daily News” as the paper is reporting that former Knicks forward Jared Jeffries will sign a contract with the club once he clears waivers Tuesday. Jeffries was released last Thursday by the Houston Rockets the team that the Knicks traded him to last season in the deal that brought Tracy McGrady to New York.
The club will have to cut a player in order to bring Jeffries back and speculation is that Shelden Williams or Renaldo Balkman may end up being the odd man out. Both players came to New York from Denver in the trade that brought Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks. Cousin Paulie thinks that it would be a positive move for “MY BOYS” as Jeffries could spell Amar’e Stoudemire off the bench and possibly there could be times when both players would be on the floor at the same time.
Jeffries is now playing in his ninth NBA season and has career averages of 5.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He was selected by the Wizards in the 2002 NBA Draft and played his first four seasons playing for Washington.
Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points, Amare Stoudemire added 16 points and a huge blocked shot against LeBron James with 7 seconds left, and the New York Knicks stunned the Miami Heat 91-86 on Sunday night.
