The NBA Would Be Insane To Allow Another Lock Out!

Your Old Pal New York Vinnie is very excited about the upcoming NBA Playoffs and not just because “MY BOYS” the New York Knicks will be in them for the first time in years. There are a lot of intriguing teams like the Sixers, the Grizzlies and the Pacers who are also looking like they are on the verge of making it back to the Post Season as well after a long absence. Now add those to the mix of Boston, Los Angeles, San Antonio and Miami and this could be a very special year in the NBA. In just a few months we shall find out if New York Vinnie was correct in predicting another NBA Finals with the Lakers and the Celtics.

Now imagine if that high from the Playoffs was ruined by another lock-out in the NBA; just how ticked off are you going to “FRICKIN” feel? New York Vinnie will tell you right now that if that occurs it will make my blood boil! Because New York Vinnie is truly looking forward to having the Knicks go through training camp and learn how to really play together. A lock-out would prevent that from happening as well as turning off a whole lot of fans if you catch New York Vinnie’s drift!

Unfortunately that is a very real possibility as it seems that an NBA collective bargaining agreement will not get approved in time to avoid a work stoppage. It seems that there is too much greed on each side of the aisle as both the owners and the players are reportedly far apart on a deal. Both Commissioner David Stern as well as the head of the NBA Players Association Billy Hunter are sounding recently as if a lock-out is almost unavoidable.

What you got here are a bunch of “FRICKIN Dim-Wits” who apparently forgot about how hard it was to get the fans back after the last work stoppage. If it was not for the NBA Draft Class of 2003 as well as the resurgence of the Boston Los Angeles rivalry fans may have stayed away forever. Is the NBA that confident they can avoid total disaster if the arenas go dark again? Because New York Vinnie certainly is not.

The NBA will be slitting their own throat if they allow another lock-out to happen as this time the fans might just not return. Now die-hard NBA fans like New York Vinnie will always come back; but what about the casual fan of the game? The ones that got caught up in Kobe vs Pierce; are you sure they will come back once the games start back up?

What ever it takes the NBA has to make sure that the games keep on going. This is not the NFL or even baseball as far as level of devotion. The NBA is the third sport at best in the USA and a work stoppage could send them further down the list in a very short while.
